Since its founding in 1981, Oktoberfest has supported a variety of art programs in the area. All work is done by community volunteers and proceeds support projects sponsored by the non-profit Pedernales Creative Arts Alliance. The PCAA gives out scholarships to students from Gillespie County wishing to study music or art at the university level.
